World-Class Mountain Biking
Fruita is a top-tier MTB & gravel destination—here's where to ride.

18 Road (North Fruita Desert)
The 18 Road trail system is Fruita's crown jewel—fast, flowy, and grin-inducing from start to finish. Favorites like Kessel Run and PBR (Pumps, Bumps, and Rollers) deliver perfectly sculpted singletrack across high-desert mesa tops. With trails for every skill level and short loop options, it's ideal for families and riders who love stacking laps.
Start early to beat the heat and hit Kessel Run first. The trail is freshest in the morning and the light on the mesa is unreal.

Kokopelli Loops
Famous for technical singletrack and stunning views of the Colorado River canyon, the Kokopelli trail network stretches from Fruita toward Moab. Riders love the mix of slickrock, sandy washes, and panoramic vistas. Rustler's Loop is an excellent introductory ride featuring self-teaching skills signs—perfect for newer riders building confidence.
Pack extra water and snacks—there's no resupply on the loops. Rustler's Loop is the must-do if you only have time for one ride.
Pro Tip: Fruita is a high-desert climate. Always bring more water than you think you need, and start rides early in summer to beat the afternoon heat.
The Colorado National Monument
Nature, hiking, and jaw-dropping scenery just minutes from your door.

Rim Rock Drive
Just 15 minutes from our properties, this 23-mile scenic route through Colorado National Monument winds past towering red-rock monoliths, sheer 500-foot cliffs, and sweeping canyon panoramas. It's consistently rated one of the most beautiful drives in America—and for good reason.
Drive in from the west entrance at sunrise for the most dramatic light on Independence Monument. Stop at Book Cliffs View for photos.

Dinosaur Hill
Located just 1.5 miles south of Fruita, Dinosaur Hill offers a mile-long interpretive loop with educational plaques about the fossils discovered on-site. It's a quick, rewarding hike with panoramic views of the Grand Valley—perfect for families or anyone looking for a leg-stretching break between rides.
Visit in the morning for cooler temps and bring binoculars—the valley views from the top are sweeping. Great for kids!
Pro Tip: Don't miss the overlooks at Artists Point and Devils Kitchen—two of the most photographed spots in western Colorado.
Downtown Eats & Brews
Fuel up before, during, and after your Fruita adventure.

Hot Tomato Pizza
The undisputed post-ride refuel spot in Fruita. Hand-tossed pies, hearty calzones, and a laid-back patio where trail stories flow as freely as the local brews. It's been fuelling Fruita's riding community for years and remains the place everyone ends up after a day on the trails.
It gets packed—order ahead or visit during off-peak hours! The back patio fills up fast on weekends, so arrive by 5:30 PM.

Copper Club Brewing
A cozy, bike-themed brewery just blocks from our homes, pouring rotating small-batch ales alongside crowd-pleasing staples. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming—exactly what you want after a dusty day on the trails. Bonus: you can have Hot Tomato pizza delivered right to the taproom.
Try the seasonal IPA flight and pair it with a Hot Tomato delivery. Check their socials for live music nights.

Camilla's Kaffe
The go-to for an early breakfast before hitting the trails. Known for hearty wraps, fresh pastries, and strong coffee that sets you up for a full day of riding. The friendly small-town atmosphere makes it feel like a local's kitchen.
Grab a breakfast burrito and a drip coffee to-go—you'll want the extra fuel for those 18 Road laps.

Provisions Base Camp
The ultimate adventure fuel. Whether you need a gourmet sandwich for the trail or a craft cocktail to wind down, this is a downtown Fruita essential.
Grab one of their signature Provisions bags for your day at the Colorado National Monument.
Pro Tip: All three spots are within walking distance of each other on downtown's main drag—plan a progressive dinner starting with coffee, then pizza, then brews.
